Fellowship Place, a nonprofit agency located in New Haven, is recruiting for a full time Program Assistant/Advisor for the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center which provides therapeutic group activities, social & recreational activities, and supportive counseling for individuals living with a chronic mental illness. Responsibilities include service planning and coordination with clinical service providers, group planning and facilitation, outreach & engagement, and service documentation. The Program Assistant may lead groups on Mindfulness & Meditation, Social Skills, and activities for young adults. Successful candidate will have good motivational interviewing skills, some familiarity with the mental health system of care in Greater New Haven area, and group work experience. Position requires team work and creativity in developing activities that promote recovery, positive use of leisure time, and independent living.
Hours: M,W,TH 9:00am-4:30pm and T, F 9:30am-5:00pm. Salary range $34,000-$38,000 annually with comprehensive benefits package including health benefits, paid time off, and 403-b plan. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Social Work with prior mental health experience in a nonprofit setting preferred. Associates degree with a minimum of two years relevant work experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree. Occasional use of personal vehicle required; mileage reimbursement available.
