Part-Time Program Assistant for Drop-in Homeless Program

The Fellowship Inn, a daytime drop-in program for the homeless located in New Haven, CT,  is recruiting for a part time Program Assistant for Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.  Responsibilities include greeting walk-ins, setting up and overseeing breakfast  and lunch service, scheduling use of shower and laundry facilities, making shelter referrals, and  providing information and linkages to other community services.    Applicants should have good motivational interviewing skills  and an interest in working with adults with mental health and substance use disorders; prior experience in a shelter or drop-in program preferred.   Minimum of High School diploma required; associates degree with course work in Psychology  preferred.  This is a good entry level position for college student seeking to gain experience in the social service field.  Hours are 8:30am-3pm Saturdays & Sundays; 9:45am-1:45pm on holidays.   Salary:  $17.50/hour.
