Part Time Program Assistant to Work With The Homeless

The Fellowship Inn, a daytime drop-in program for the homeless located in New Haven CT, is recruiting for a part time Program Assistant to work Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday  plus holidays.  Responsibilities include greeting walk-ins, setting up and overseeing breakfast and lunch service, scheduling use of shower and laundry facilities, and providing information & referral to other community services.    Applicants should have an interest and commitment to working with the poor and individuals with a mental illness or a co-occurring substance use disorder and mental illness; prior experience in a shelter or drop-in program preferred.  Minimum of HS diploma required; Associates degree with course work in Psychology preferred.  This is a good entry level position for college student seeking to gain experience in the social service field or for an experienced professional seeking supplemental income.  Hours are 7:30am-1pm Friday & Monday; 8:30am-3pm Saturday & Sunday; 9:45am-1:45pm holidays.  Salary is $17.80/hour.
