Birgitta Johnson Campership Fund at Fellowship Place, Annual Awards Ceremony
The Birgitta Johnson Campership Fund at Fellowship Place awarded six camperships at its annual awards ceremony on May 24. Winners receive a free trip to the Salvation Army’s Camp CONNRI, an adult retreat center in Ashford, CT.
To be considered for a campership, individuals must submit a piece of art or an essay describing why they need a summer getaway from city life. Winners are selected by the Fellowship Place Board of Directors. The Campership Fund is named in honor of former Board President, the late Birgitta Johnson, who loved to travel. Birgitta was dedicated to giving the individuals served at Fellowship Place the opportunity for new & enriching experiences.

Yale University Students Hold 2022 VITA Tax Clinics on Fellowship Place’s Campus
A special shout-out to Yale University students Helia Gagnon and Michael Sanchez for organizing two income tax preparation clinics on the Fellowship Place campus. Income taxes were prepared for free for about 50 individuals, many of whom were first-time income tax filers. The students are part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA)–a much appreciated and valuable service for Fellowship Place clients.
