Please support the Fellowship Place Steppers in the 2015 Walk Against Hunger, May 17, 2015, for the CT Food Bank.

On May 17, 2015, the Fellowship Place Steppers will participate in the 2015 Walk Against Hunger for the CT Food Bank, at the College Woods Pavilion at East Rock Park. An important partner in Fellowship Place’s Healthy Meals Initiative, the CT Food Bank has provided our agency with 21,177 lbs of food this past year, at a reduced cost. This partnership is vital to the success of Fellowship’s Healthy Meals Initiative, which offers our clients access to free nutritional meals daily, with menus that increase their intake of fruits, leafy greens, vegetables, & whole grains. The program also exposes them to a variety of educational programs to help them make healthy food choices.032a

As a participating agency, Fellowship Place’s Healthy Meals Initiative will receive a portion of funds raised that day. Fellowship Place awarded $100,000 Responsive Grant from the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven

The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (CFGNH) has awarded Fellowship Place a two-year grant in the amount of $100,000. Awarded through the Foundation’s largest, annual competitive grants process, Fellowship Place was one of 43 nonprofits chosen to receive funding from the over 2.4 million awarded in one-year and multi-year grants.

“Each year The Community Foundation’s competitive grantmaking process highlights all the great work being done by nonprofits in our community and poses very difficult decisions for us in choosing which grants to support. As always, in making these decisions we have sought to find a balance among our community’s many opportunities and needs” said William W. Ginsberg, President & CEO of The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven.

The awarded funds are to provide general operating support for Fellowship Place’s core programs.
