Richard Estes Signed Poster

Richard Estes signed poster, Central Savings, 1975, 22”x 18”. Estes is a famous photorealism artist, regarded as one of the founders of the international photorealism movement of the late 1960s. He is known for his depiction of reflected light in New York City scenes. His works have been exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.

She has spent considerable time painting in Italy, which has been an important influence. Whatever the motif, light and color are at the heart of the work, and she creates a sense of place that speaks beyond the physicality of the paint. “Among the many painters I admire and who have influenced my work, the standouts are Edward Hopper, John Baptiste Corot, and Giorgio Morandi.” Her work is in regional galleries throughout the United States and Rome and in numerous private collections.
