Expressive Arts Coordinator for Mental Health Program

Fellowship Place, a non-profit agency located in New Haven, is recruiting for a full time Expressive Arts Coordinator to plan and conduct a broad range of expressive art groups for adults living with a chronic mental illness.  Groups may utilize painting, drawing, photography, writing, and music to promote self-expression, self-esteem, and self-advocacy.  The Coordinator also organizes in-house art shows and community art shows that provide group participants with opportunities to exhibit and sell their art work.  The Coordinator is also responsible for service planning and supportive counseling for an assigned caseload.  Position requires a Bachelors Degree in Psychology or Art with a minimum of 2 years experience utilizing art as a therapeutic tool with the mentally ill or other special needs populations.

Hours:  9am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday with occasional overtime.  Sal. Is $22/hour with paid time off, medical benefits, and retirement plan options.

Full Time Employment Specialist

Fellowship Place, a leading provider of employment services for mentally ill adults, seeks a full time Employment Specialist to help clients find and keep a job. This position is responsible for the provision of evidence-based supported employment services for an assigned caseload.  Duties include but are not limited to vocational assessments, help with writing resumes, coaching for job interviews, outreach to potential employers, job matching, and post job placement supports.   Employment Specialists are responsible for service coordination with other providers working with shared clients.  Requirements include a BA/BS degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, or AS degree in Human Services and a minimum of 2 years work experience in the Mental Health field. Fellowship Place, a leading provider of career development services for mentally ill adults, seeks a full time Education Specialist to help clients obtain a GED or begin and complete a post-secondary education.  Job responsibilities include education assessment and planning, assisting clients with the college enrollment process, and on-going supports to help clients be successful in school.    Education Specialists are responsible for service coordination with other providers working with shared clients.  Requirements include a BA/BS degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field, or AS degree in Human Services and a minimum of 2 years work experience in the Mental Health field. Part Time Accounting Clerk

Fellowship Place, a community based mental health agency, is hiring a PT Accounting Clerk for the Business Office. Duties include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank deposits, filing, and answering phones. Position is scheduled for up to 25 hours per week during the normal business hours of 9am-5pm, Monday–Friday. Successful candidates will have excellent computer skills with experience using QuickBooks, Microsoft Word and Excel; good customer service skills; and good verbal and written communication skills. HS diploma or equivalent required with 1-2 years related office experience. Salary is $18.50 per hour. Schedule is flexible and an excellent opportunity for a student.

Part-Time Program Assistant for Drop-in Homeless Program

The Fellowship Inn, a daytime drop-in program for the homeless located in New Haven, CT,  is recruiting for a part time Program Assistant for Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.  Responsibilities include greeting walk-ins, setting up and overseeing breakfast  and lunch service, scheduling use of shower and laundry facilities, making shelter referrals, and  providing information and linkages to other community services.    Applicants should have good motivational interviewing skills  and an interest in working with adults with mental health and substance use disorders; prior experience in a shelter or drop-in program preferred.   Minimum of High School diploma required; associates degree with course work in Psychology  preferred.  This is a good entry level position for college student seeking to gain experience in the social service field.  Hours are 8:30am-3pm Saturdays & Sundays; 9:45am-1:45pm on holidays.   Salary:  $17.50/hour.

Full Time Case Manager Permanent Supportive Housing

Fellowship Place, a nonprofit agency located in New Haven, CT, is seeking a full time Case Manager for its Permanent Supportive Housing program.  The Permanent Supportive Housing program provides housing and support services for individuals living with a mental illness and/or co-occurring substance use disorder.  A majority of residents were formally homeless or living in transitional housing programs prior to moving to Fellowship Place.  Duties include outreach,  service coordination with primary care and behavioral health service providers,  assistance with applications for government entitlement programs,  referrals to employment and education programs,  supportive counseling, transportation,  and escort service to important appointments.

BA in Social Work or Psychology required; prior casework experience working with individuals with mental health disorders helpful.    Successful candidate will have good motivational interviewing skills, commitment to vulnerable client populations, and desire to learn and practice innovative service models.    Must have valid driver’s license and use of personal car during work hours.
