Daytime Drop-in Program for the Homeless Full Time Mental Health Program Assistant
Fellowship Place, a multi-purpose social service organization serving adults living with a mental illness or a co-occurring mental illness and substance use disorder is recruiting for a full time Mental Health program assistant for its daytime drop-in program.
Applicants must be able to work 7:30am to 3pm on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday with occasional overtime. This is an excellent position for individuals interested in working with poor and underserved client populations and who want to make a difference in the lives of homeless men and women. Responsibilities include basic needs assessment and referrals to shelter services, primary and behavioral health care, and employment programs. The Program Assistant may also help program participants with applications for government entitlement programs. The Program Assistant works with other program staff to develop daily schedule for meals, laundry, and showers and to maintain a safe and peaceful environment in the program at all times.
Successful applicants will have prior experience in a shelter or drop-in program, be familiar with harm reduction and motivational interviewing, and be comfortable with electronic record keeping.
Salary is $23 per hour with paid time off, health plan, and retirement plan.
